Welcome to Stand with Science

Tell Congress

The Stand with Science team took your signatures to the hill but it’s far from over: we met with six offices that day. That leaves 529 congressional offices to go! We need you to write your elected representatives and tell them about the letter, so they are all aware of how important this is to so many people. You have spoken, now make sure you are heard! It’s still important to get more signatures, too. The science funding problem has obviously not gone away, and we’ll keep updating the tally with new signatures periodically.

Sign the Letter

Welcome, and thank you for standing with science!

We encourage everyone–grad students, former grad students, and all other supporters of science–to sign the letter. Tell Congress how important it is to choose cuts carefully and avoid ruining our future while attempting to save it.

The debt supercommittee has failed to reach an agreement and the mandatory 8% cuts are in motion, to take effect in 2013 and last for a decade. However, this makes the Stand with Science letter more important than ever. In the next few weeks Congress can choose other deficit reduction measures and avoid the cuts to federal science and engineering R&D. We are reaching out to Congress via the letter to demonstrate how federal science funding is an essential source of American prosperity that cannot afford to be cut.

Time is of the essence! Be heard, and improve America’s future.
